A stunning, oddball epic about 5 year-old Vanya who becomes the envy of the orphanage when he's adopted by a rich Italian family. Only one problem he's convinced that his real mother still loves him so is determined to track her down. The kid is fantastic and carries a picture that really wants to have its cake and eat it - a happy ending in the miserable world of Russian orphanages.
