In Macau on the eve of the handover to China corrupt police officer Shing finds solace with a young girl he's picked up in a bar. In the morning Yan tells him she's his daughter and insists on moving in with him. As he roams the seedy streets of murky Macau trying to establish a workable relationship with this lost little girl his new role as a father inevitably adds to the mounting pressures in his life. A stylishly shot, offbeat gem from one of Hong Kong's leading new-wave filmmakers with finely acted, genuinely believable characters. Its melancholic, Portuguese-influenced soundtrack adds an air of nostalgic regret for past mistakes to this picture of life in Macau.
Ym Macaw ar noson y trosglwyddo yn ôl i ddwylo Tsieina mae'r heddwas Shing yn canfod cysur ym mreichiau merch ifanc. Wedi deffro drannoeth, mae'r ferch yn haeru mai hi yw ei ferch ef. Mae'r ffilm hon yn dilyn Shing a'i ymgais gythryblus i sefydlu perthynas gyda'r ferch ddieithr hon. Comedi melodramatig
