This is Zhuangzhuang's dream project, a film about the real Tibet shot on locations in Tibet and acted by Tibetans it offers the most awesomely plausible account of Tibetan life and culture ever seen in the west. Norbu, a horse thief is expelled from his clan and forced to become a nomad, pitching his tent wherever he can find work. His family's nomadic life becomes tougher and tougher, the wheel of fate and cosmic retribution turning inexorably, reaching a conclusion that is stunning in its elemental power. A breathtaking spectacle about life and death told from a Buddhist perspective, it shows the hardship and pitiless nature of life in the high Himalaya , the splendour of Buddhist ceremonial, and how vital communal support is for survival. This meditation on the Tibetans' daily struggle for survival is told in pictures not words, it's a truly amazing film that will take you to mystical places you've never been before.
Ffilm am Dibet go iawn a phobl Tibet hefyd. Caiff Norbu, lleidr ceffylau ei alltudio o'i deulu a chaiff ei orfodi i fyw fel nomad. Mae ei fywyd yn mynd yn fwyfwy caled ac mae gan ffawd ran fawr i chwarae yn ei fywyd. |
