Thanks to excellent performances all round this absolutely delightful comedy that deftly deals with Arab/Israeli relations, loneliness, and the pathos of people's lives succeeds in being very funny indeed. When a small Egyptian police band find themselves marooned in a remote Israeli town they have to throw themselves on the mercy of the local café owner. Through a strange night of awkward hospitality and intimate revelations both band members and locals discover that their common humanity can overcome
their cultural differences. Full of wry humour, this warm-hearted film has charmed audiences across the world.
