Welcome to WOW! Wales One World Film Festival 2008.

The seventh WOW Wales One World Film Festival was a great success, enjoyed by over 6000 people,
a 10% increase compared with last year.

In total, WOW 7 consisted of 175 screenings and events in 22 different venues across Wales and the UK. As a result of our partnership with CHINA NOW, WOW was able, for the first time, to tour a programme of Chinese films to cinemas across the UK. In all the tour went to 20 cities and towns across the UK, including London, Edinburgh, Cambridge, Belfast, Oxford, Sheffield & Nottingham and was enjoyed by a further thousand people.

With 19 Welsh premieres and four UK premieres the WOW programme is going from strength to strength. The most popular films in this year’s programme were, The Band’s Visit, Tocar y Luchar, The Italian, We Are Together, Still Life.

Our first ‘Introduction to World Cinema’ evening class was a great success and we are planning to run something similar in Chapter next year too.

Dates for 2009!
Next year’s festival will start in Aberystwyth on Friday 6 March and run to Wednesday 8 April 2009.
